The Maryland Transit Administration is hosting an Open House and Public Hearing on the Corridor Cities Transitway Supplemental Environmental Assessment. The event will be held at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg,  Maryland on December 15, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The meeting is being offered to provide all interested persons the opportunity to learn about and express their opinions about recent project developments, including primarily the analysis of proposed CCT alignment modifications near Crown Farm, Life Sciences Center, and Kentlands.

The Open House portion of the meeting will provide information about the proposed improvements and the results of the environmental analysis.  Project staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. Staff from the Maryland State Highway Administration will also be on hand to provide updates on the highway components of the larger I-270/US 15 Multi-Modal Corridor Study.

There will be no formal presentation. However, public testimony for the project’s record will begin at 6:00 p.m. The opportunity to provide testimony privately will also be provided, starting at 4:00 p.m.

We are moving forward.  The next stop will be the Governor’s announcement of the Locally Preferred Alternative.  It is not too soon to let the Governor and the Maryland Secretary of Transportation know that you support the CCT.  Please contact them to express your support:
